Hi, Im considering reducing the size of some of my battery powered projects by using the CR2032 button cell. All the specs mention something similar: - Standard current: 0.1mA - Continuous current (maximum): 1mA - Pulse current (maximum): 10mA However I need to drive about 9

Yep, academically it''s mildly interesting to briefly consider, but the price per minute of human effort relative to a CR2032 is automatically, always: just replace it. At federal minimum wage of $7.25/hr, at only 5 minutes of human effort, you''re at more per cell than IKEA sells CR2032 cells for. And my effort here kinda proves that point.

Please choose diodes with leak current as small as possible. Please Type current Battery Battery
Most batteries will show much lower lifespans as the current draw increases. However, most rechargeables are by chemistry high discharge rates. This doesn''t work with your common coin cell. There''s even a possibility that the cell (if you chose to run your app off a CR2032 still) will rupture and ruin your project due to the high discharge rate.

CR2032 (9% on average depending on vendor). These observations are valid across all six coin cell vendors tested, and implies that minimizing average current is the key to achieving long battery life with CR2032s. 1 Introduction When designing a small wireless sensor node to be powered by the popular CR2032 coin cell, some sources claim

A typical CR2032 can source much more current than 5 mA. You could pull 100mA from it, for under an hour, with some caveats about it''s high ESR. The nominal current is to establish a base lifetime of the battery.
This has a nominal voltage of 3V, a typical capacity of 235 mAh, and is 20 mm in diameter and 3.2 mm in height. It has a shelf life of 8-10 years when stored at room temperature which decreases to 3-4 years when stored at high temperatures.. The CR2032 battery is also known by its Duracell product code: DL2032 or BR2032. The equivalent

Sounds like you get the idea but you can search for "battery C-rate" to learn more. It is a way to normalize current to the size (capacity) of a battery. So 1C is whatever current it takes to fully discharge (or charge) the battery in one hour. 2C is the rate to charge (or discharge) in 30 minutes, 0.5C is 2 hours.
